Corrections Policy

The correction trail is not an afterthought here — it’s the product. A comparison site is only worth what its numbers are worth, and numbers are only worth what you can verify.

How we handle errors

  1. Report: any user, contributor, or provider can report an error — corrections@money2046.com or the contact form. Include the page, the figure, and what you believe is correct.
  2. Investigate: we check against the source. If the figure was verified, we re-verify at checkout. If it was an estimate, we say so and update the labeling.
  3. Correct with a trail: the fix is published without deleting history. The change log (Watch) records what changed, when, and why. That’s the point: silent edits are how comparison sites lie.
  4. Severity: material errors (a verified figure that was wrong) get a correction notice on the affected page for 30 days. Estimate-labeling errors get a note and re-labeling.

Accuracy targets

We’d rather have a visible correction than a quiet lie. That’s the standard.
